Blurb- On the run from her past, photographer Ali Thibeaux arrives undercover in Marietta to find her biological half-sister. Plan A: Meet Olivia, photograph her wedding, and disappear before endangering anyone. Plan B: All hell breaks loose.
Reclusive rancher Adam Wolfe’s only plan when he hires Ali to manage his dysfunctional household is to go on hiding from the world. But his scars don’t seem to matter to the beauty who unexpectedly turns his house into a home and heals the rift between him and the teenaged niece he’s taken in. Still, he suspects there’s more to Ali than meets the eye and he’s determined to uncover what she’s hiding from him before it’s too late.
Review- A very well written, rainy afternoon read. Keeps your interest, the characters are so well described you can picture them, and the plot is more believable than most of the light romance novels you normally see. I highly recommend “A Cowboy to Keep.”

The Gods are real, there are many, and they promise to return to change the world. Tadrin, a common boy, is trampled in the street. Rendiran, a healer for one of the greatest Temples takes the poor child’s body to a shrine where he appeals to Irenick, a God that stands for justice and truth. The boy returns with a mission: to become a Paragon of Irenick and usher in a new age of peace and justice as His Paladin.
The successful resurrection of the child causes political intrigue, attracts mad priests from other temples who want to capture him for sacrifice so they can raise their own Gods, and the beginning of a war that will last for decades. Secrets are unearthed, plots are formulated, quick action is taken as Rendiran and a few trusted companions make decisions that will have far reaching consequences. An epic tale that reaches as high as the heavens and as low as the mountain caverns of Forge Hin begins here.
From the author who wrote Brightwill, Dark Arts and the Spinward Fringe series.
I was lucky enough to read this as a series. I’m look ing forward to reading it in it completion. Yet again, Randolph Lalonde pens a winner. I can’t get enough of the writers work and the amazing adventures he takes me on. I loved every minute of it.
An experimental new Internet-based form of money is created that anyone can generate at home; people build frightening firetrap computers full of video cards, putting out so much heat that one operator is hospitalised with heatstroke and brain damage.
A young physics student starts a revolutionary new marketplace immune to State coercion; he ends up ordering hits on people because they might threaten his great experiment, and is jailed for life without parole.
Fully automated contractual systems are proposed to make business and the law work better; the contracts people actually write are unregulated penny stock offerings whose fine print literally states that you are buying nothing of any value.

How did we get here?
David Gerard covers the origins and history of Bitcoin to the present day, the other cryptocurrencies it spawned including Ethereum, the ICO craze and the 2017 crypto bubble, and the attempts to apply blockchains and smart contracts to business. Plus a case study on blockchains in the music industry.
Bitcoin and blockchains are not a technology story, but a psychology story.
Remember: if it sounds too good to be true, it almost certainly is.
A cracking good read, very well researched and sourced, and the perfect gift for that person at work who asks you ” So, what’s the deal with Bitcoin?”.
Interesting and entertaining. Accurate in all technical details I am about to check.
Too bad it’s not 100% jargon-free though, which may makes it a bit hard at time for non-technical people (for instance you have to know what is DosBOX at some point, despite it’s non-essential to the point).

Practice management is often misunderstood. The Advisor Playbook will take the mystery away.
Practice management is confused with marketing, or is limited to strategizing about branding, or simply equated to old-school salesmanship.
Practice management is how you build an organized toolbox of all your processes – branding, marketing, service activities, core functions – and constantly tune and keep that toolbox efficient and effortless. It’s a network of interrelated skills, processes and strategies that build value in a business while making it manageable, scalable and ensuring the owner runs the business and not the other way around.
Duncan MacPherson and Pareto Systems have been in the forefront of practice management in the realm of the professional advisor for a quarter-century. Chris Jeppesen of First Trust brings his own decades of professional knowledge to the table. The processes in The Advisor Playbook have grown over those years, through constant refinement and improvement. They’ll help you to perform that same refinement and improvement on your business, and regain liberation and order in your personal and professional life.
As you progress through the book, you’ll realize that each process is implemented in synergy with every other. Referrals are influenced by your service which is influenced by your process, which is influenced by your philosophy, which is influenced by your ideal client definition, life and business goals. Nothing exists in a vacuum, and everything is, in the end, focused on a single unwavering goal: To build real, advocate relationships with your ideal clients that will generate both growth through referrals and the capacity for that growth.
How you are perceived is key in every step of that circle, and readers who take on board what the Playbook outlines will come away with an understanding of how they are perceived, how to cast themselves as a consultant with a process rather than a salesperson with a quota, and will set a constantly rising bar for their own success.
You’ll be amazed at how common-sense most of the processes and strategies seem, and probably horrified at how often you’ve wandered from the path or failed to implement them due to a lack of clarity or simple distraction.
The Playbook will guide you to an actionable plan and process that makes going to work a positive experience, and a positive investment.
Antidote for anyone who is too busy to simplify their practice, and restoring some margin in their life. Many thanks from advisors I’ve recommended the book to, for the results they’ve seen.

The whole premise is that diet and methods of feeding throughout life, can affect both well-being and longevity. Alison Campbell has researched and written widely on the subject of rat nutrition over the past 15 years. Her book, The Scuttling Gourmet, is now in its 4th edition and is widely recommended by experienced rat keepers.
Fantastically written. Great information for any fancy rat (s) owner.
Easy to read, and available in great formats too.
I downloaded the kindle edition. And the pdf (so I’m able to print it for my own reference)
I’ve already got the third edition of this book in print, and having just had a quick look through the new updated version, it’s very well written with easy to follow information on the dietary needs of our little furry friends. For those of us lucky enough to be enslaved by these amazing little animals it’s an absolute must have. It’s really useful to have it in an electronic form as it means when I’m in the shop, having forgotten what I went in for, I’ve got a list of ingredients for a variety of recipes with me at all times.
This book is one of my most useful tools when deciding what my rats need in their diet. This newer edition will help me improve their diet even more. My rats are very thankful. A book for every pet rat owner.
We have two elderly girls that will really benefit from this book, thank you
The Scuttling Gourmet is a brilliant book, had the hard copy for a few years now, and dip in and out of it regularly, full of useful information. My rats also adore the Liver Biscuit recipe, they wait excitedly for a little piece of it every morning. Thank you Alison.
It is that prevailing premise, which has spawned this story.
Ben Donnelly just got his life back together. Now, the world around him is falling apart.
A drought swept across the planet causing food shortages worldwide. Its effects crept across the planet for weeks. Riots broke out and violence ensued, but that was only the beginning. Chaos began to tear away at the very fabric of society. Americans sat back and watched as civilians around the world descended into darkness. Their government told them they were safe—insulated—as the rest of the world was pulled into the quickening spiral.
The Donnelly family finds catastrophic events have now reached their quiet neighborhood. America too is being sucked into the vortex—terror has found them. Their life and everything around them is about to be torn apart.
Ben Donnelly, a former S.W.A.T. officer with the Boston police force, is in the fight of his life and will do anything to protect his family from the storm of inhumanity.
This book was amazing. It was very well done and it kept me wanting more. The topic and plot were unique and kept me guessing. There were plenty of ups and downs. I definitely would recommend this book. The author has an intriguing writing style. I was drawn right into the story and felt as if I was a part of the Donnelly family.
This book starts off with a family hunkering-down to try and weather a storm of chaos that kicks up after the food supply is gone, but then turns into a running adventure. It keeps you wondering what’s around the next corner and what could happen next. A fair number of characters come into play during this story and they’re all developed nicely. You follow a core few and get to enjoy some witty banter along the way.
I don’t want to give a way too much and recommend giving this book a read.
SOCIETY for SUPPER
Premise: Civilization ‘was’ only nine meals from anarchy — that threshold was breached and chaos ensues!
This book was a compelling thrill ride, which kept me riveted from start to finish. I had fun with this. This action-adventure story follows a family in their battle to survive on a chaotic ride of suspense and thrill. There are witty, well developed characters and a plot that keeps you guessing. There are enough ups, down, twists and turns to keep you gripping until you’re done.
Tina Bender is the fearless gossip columnist at L.A.’s most infamous tabloid. That is, until she receives a threatening note, promising, “If you don’t stop writing about me, you’re dead.” Reluctantly teaming with a built bodyguard Tina sets out to uncover just which juicy piece of Hollywood gossip is worth killing over.
Fluffy. Take 1 paparazza, one scandal rag, a lot of testosterone, and a boatload of snarks and humor and you have a nice beach read.
First off, beware of eating and drinking when reading this, you might choke on something, this is very funny. The storyline is great, the writing is excellent, the characters are hilarious and the end was perfect. I really enjoyed this and can’t wait to read more by Gemma.
This book is one of my favorite books, I read all of the time. It will always be in my top ten books to read before I die. This how much I truly LOVE this book! 🙂

Welcome to the fifth annual 2017 Longhorn Football Prospectus: Thinking Texas Football. This book is a Texas football preview, a Big 12 season companion and reference guide, and a resource for the entire football season.
We started writing these guides because we believe they fill an important, underserved niche in the market. Like many passionate football fans reading regional or national publications, we realized that we knew more about our team and conference than the “experts.” And most of their previews might better be termed “historicals” – as they are written in April for June publication. We targeted an early July release to balance the inclusion of recent developments like transfers, injuries and offseason intelligence with the desire to provide football sustenance during the long, hot summer.
Thinking Texas Football, in deference to its name, is written for an intelligent football layperson. We won’t insult you by writing down to the lowest common denominator nor will we try to overawe you with technical babble. The internet has several fantastic resources – public and pay – but they (where we write included) serve a reactive news cycle and rarely have the chance to develop deeper themes. And heading into a season that we think should be the start of something truly special in Longhorn history, there’s no better time for a deep dive.
Our best ambition is to provide you with different tools – while plainly communicating an awareness of our own biases and blind spots – so that we can drive a conversation that mutually enriches our shared passion.
If you like it, tell a friend. If you really like it, buy several and send it to all of your friends. We hope they’ll appreciate it as much as we do.
The best preview out there regarding Texas Football. It’s highly informative, full of proper perspective, and really really entertaining. You need to charge more money for this guys. It’s really good.
These guys are awesome. Devoured content right away and as always top notch. I’m not a football X and O guy but they make it easier to understand the game. I am a fan of quality writing and they’ve got that down in spades. This book is a must read every year for the Texas football fan, as is Barkingcarnival their website. Highly recomend.
Blurb- Book 2 of All for the Game; The Raven King follows The Foxhole Court
The Foxes are a fractured mess, but their latest disaster might be the miracle they’ve always needed to come together as a team. The one person standing in their way is Andrew, and the only one who can break through his personal barriers is Neil.
Except Andrew doesn’t give up anything for free and Neil is terrible at trusting anyone but himself. The two don’t have much time to come to terms with their situation before outside forces start tearing them apart. Riko is intent on destroying Neil’s fragile new life, and the Foxes have just become collateral damage.
Neil’s days are numbered, but he’s learning the hard way to go down fighting for what he believes in, and Neil believes in Andrew even if Andrew won’t believe in himself.
Review- Yep. I loved this. Same great writing, same riveting plot, same fascinating characters. The Raven King unravels things a little further, and you get to see: more about the Foxes, more about the Ravens, and quite a little more about “Neil.” You get to find more about every Fox’s back story this time (except Allison, I think), which I really enjoyed. In particular, I loved the development of Neil’s relationship with Wymack, Renee, Betsy, and, of course, of course: Andrew. This book has some very exciting moments in terms of plot, in which we really get to see Neil start to live life fully and unabashedly unafraid, but also happy. He starts to love again. It’s bittersweet, considering his bleak future. His love story is so subtle, but so real, so, in it’s own way, “sweet.”
Anyway, a great read, just like the first book. I highly recommend checking it out. Love it.
